๐Ÿ”ฅ Tteokbokki with Noodles (Rabokki) Recipe

Rabokki is a popular Korean street food that combines spicy rice cakes (tteokbokki) with instant noodles. It’s bold, flavorful, and perfect for a filling snack or meal!


๐Ÿ“ Ingredients:

Main:

  • 200g Korean rice cakes (tteok)

  • 1 pack instant ramen noodles (any brand)

  • 100g Korean fish cakes (optional, sliced)

  • 1 boiled egg (optional)

  • 1 green onion (chopped)

  • 1½ cups water or anchovy broth

Sauce:

  • 1½ tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)

  • 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp garlic (minced)


๐Ÿณ Instructions:

  1. Prepare rice cakes:
    Soak rice cakes in warm water for 10–15 minutes if they’re hard or refrigerated.

  2. Mix the sauce:
    In a bowl, combine gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, sugar, and minced garlic.

  3. Cook the sauce:
    In a large pan or pot, add water or anchovy broth and the mixed sauce. Stir and bring to a boil.

  4. Add rice cakes and fish cakes:
    Once boiling, add the soaked rice cakes and fish cakes. Cook on medium heat for 6–8 minutes until the rice cakes soften.

  5. Add ramen noodles:
    Add the instant noodles (without the seasoning packet) and cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring well to coat the noodles in the sauce.

  6. Add toppings:
    Add boiled egg and chopped green onions. Cook for another minute until everything is well combined and sauce thickens.

  7. Serve hot:
    Serve immediately while hot and enjoy the perfect balance of chewy, soft, and spicy goodness!
