Goulash is a rich and flavorful stew that originated in Hungary. It's made with tender beef, onions, paprika, and other spices. Perfect for a hearty meal!

📝 Ingredients:

  • 500g (1 lb) beef chuck or stew meat, cut into cubes

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 2 large onions, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons Hungarian sweet paprika

  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • 1 large carrot, sliced

  • 1 bell pepper, chopped

  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced

  • 4 cups beef broth or water

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Cook the onions:
In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and cook until soft and golden brown.

  2. Add garlic and paprika:
Stir in the minced garlic and paprika. Cook for 1 minute, making sure not to burn the paprika.

  3. Add the beef:
Add the beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides.

  4. Add tomato paste and spices:
Mix in the tomato paste, caraway seeds (if using), salt, and pepper.

  5. Add broth and simmer:
Pour in the beef broth or water until the meat is covered. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 1 to 1.5 hours, until the beef is tender.

  6. Add vegetables:
Add the carrot, bell pepper, and potatoes. Simmer for another 30 minutes until the vegetables are soft.

  7. Serve:
Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley. Goulash is great with crusty bread, rice, or egg noodles.
