🍗 Chicken Rice Recipe
A delicious and flavorful dish that's perfect for lunch or dinner. This version combines juicy chicken with fragrant rice cooked in a savory broth.
📝 Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
- 500g chicken (with bone or boneless)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tbsp oil
For the Rice:
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 1 tbsp butter or oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 4 cups chicken stock (or water + 1 stock cube)
- Salt to taste
Optional Garnish:
- Spring onions
- Fried onions
- Cucumber slices
🍳 Instructions:
Step 1: Marinate & Cook Chicken
- In a bowl, marinate chicken with salt, pepper, soy sauce, and ginger garlic paste.
- Heat oil in a pan, sear the chicken until golden brown.
- Add a little water and simmer until chicken is cooked through. Set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Rice
- Wash the basmati rice and soak for 15 minutes.
- In a large pot, heat butter or oil. Add cumin seeds and sliced onion.
- Sauté until onions are golden.
- Add rice and mix for 1–2 minutes.
- Pour in chicken stock, season with salt, and bring to a boil.
- Cover and cook on low for 15–20 minutes until rice is fluffy.
Step 3: Combine
- Layer the cooked chicken on top of the rice.
- Cover for 5 minutes to let flavors blend.
Step 4: Serve
- Plate the rice and chicken.
- Garnish with spring onions or cucumber slices.
Serve with chili sauce or garlic soy dip for extra flavor!
