2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 tsp chili powder
-
1 tsp ground cumin
-
1/2 tsp paprika
-
1/2 tsp dried oregano
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
8 small taco shells or soft tortillas
-
1 cup shredded lettuce
-
1 cup diced tomatoes
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
1/2 cup sour cream
-
1/2 cup salsa
-
Fresh cilantro leaves (optional)
-
Lime wedges (optional)
Instructions:
-
Cook the beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until softened (about 2-3 minutes).
-
Add ground beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked (about 6-8 minutes).
-
Season the beef: Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes to let the flavors blend well.
-
Prepare taco shells: Warm the taco shells or tortillas according to package instructions or on a dry pan for a minute on each side.
-
Assemble tacos: Spoon the cooked beef mixture into each taco shell. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and salsa.
-
Garnish and serve: Add fresh cilantro leaves and a squeeze of lime juice if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Tips:
-
You can swap ground beef with chicken, turkey, or even black beans for a vegetarian version.
-
Add sliced jalapeños or hot sauce if you like it spicy.
-
Serve with rice and beans for a complete meal.
